The Employee must perform Receptionist (Front Desk) duties with reasonable skill, care and professionalism, including Welcome patients and visitors and manage appointment booking, arrival and query handling. Handle patient records, messages, referrals and clinical administration securely and accurately. Escalate urgent clinical queries, safeguarding concerns or distressed patient interactions promptly.
The Employee must not disclose, copy, remove, misuse or access patient records, appointment details, clinical messages, referral information, special category health data except where authorised and necessary for proper receptionist (front desk) work. Any suspected loss, misuse or unauthorised disclosure must be reported promptly.
The Employee must follow the dental practice operational controls that apply to receptionist (front desk) work, including patient confidentiality, data protection, practice procedures, urgent query escalation, safeguarding escalation, accurate record keeping, escalation and safe working requirements.
The Employee must protect patient records, appointment details, clinical messages, referral information, special category health data and any related personal data, operational records, system access details or confidential information accessed while performing receptionist (front desk) duties.
