Day-to-day operating brief
What Conveyancer (Trainee) work looks like in practice
A Trainee Conveyancer supports property transactions while developing competence under named supervision. Terms should identify training milestones, permitted file tasks, client contact, drafting, searches, enquiries, lender work, time recording and escalation. The trainee may progress routine matters but should not exchange, give undertakings, advise on unfamiliar title issues or release funds without the approval required by the employer's supervision framework. Training allocation should expose the trainee to distinct transaction stages without making them the unreviewed owner of unfamiliar risk. Feedback should identify the title evidence or procedural rule behind a correction, allowing competence to develop beyond copying a supervisor's wording into the next file. Before client calls, the trainee should know which factual updates may be given and which enquiries require reviewed legal analysis. Diary supervision must cover exchange deposits, mortgage-offer expiry, search validity, notice periods and priority windows. A holiday handover should name every chain dependency and pending approval.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
