What Aerobics Instructor (Step) work looks like in practice
A Step Aerobics Instructor leads choreographed group exercise using adjustable platforms and music. Terms should identify venues, class levels, platform condition and height, floor spacing, music licensing, warm-up and recovery, adaptations, capacity, booking, substitute cover, first aid, incident recording and the boundary between general fitness instruction and rehabilitation or medical advice. Step sessions create distinct trip and impact risks because platform height, choreography speed and participant spacing interact. The instructor should understand who sets riser levels, when a platform must be removed, how newcomers are introduced to directional sequences and how lower-impact alternatives are demonstrated without singling people out. Music volume must still permit safety cues. The agreement can also cover storage and counting of steps, floor grip, room capacity, headset care, warm-up and recovery periods, late arrivals and the response when pain, dizziness or loss of coordination makes continued participation unsafe.
