Day-to-day operating brief
What AML Officer (Gambling) work looks like in practice
A Gambling AML Officer reviews customer and transaction risk across retail, casino or remote gambling operations. Terms should identify monitoring systems, risk factors, enhanced checks, source-of-funds or wealth evidence, sanctions interfaces, case notes, internal disclosures and management information. The officer gathers and assesses evidence but should not alert customers to protected activity, close serious concerns for commercial convenience or submit external reports unless that authority is expressly delegated. Case chronology should distinguish automated alerts, customer explanations and independently verified evidence. Where play is paused during review, the record should state who imposed the control, its scope and the next review point so a temporary risk measure does not remain indefinitely without ownership.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
