Day-to-day operating brief
What Pest Control Technician work looks like in practice
A Pest Control Technician inspects premises, identifies pest evidence, selects authorised controls and returns to assess results across homes and commercial sites. The role may carry biocides, traps, ladders and customer keys while working alone around food, children, animals or sensitive environments. Terms should define territory, driving, call-outs, competence, product custody, treatment approval, protected species, waste, documentation and escalation where identification or access is uncertain. Treatment notes should connect inspection evidence to the chosen method, dosage, placement and customer precautions so another technician can assess progress without repeating exposure. Vehicle inventories need expiry, leakage and secure-storage checks. Where infestation may arise from a building defect, food practice or neighbouring unit, the technician records contributing conditions and recommends referral rather than repeatedly treating symptoms without explaining limits.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
