The Employee must perform Pharmacy Technician duties with reasonable skill, care and professionalism, including Dispense, supply, check or support medicines processes accurately within competence and authority. Review prescriptions, complete clinical or accuracy checks and counsel patients where authorised. Maintain pharmacy, patient medication, stock and controlled drugs records where applicable.
The Employee must not disclose, copy, remove, misuse or access patient medication records, prescription information, consultation notes, controlled drugs records, dispensing incidents, special category health data except where authorised and necessary for proper pharmacy technician work. Any suspected loss, misuse or unauthorised disclosure must be reported promptly.
The Employee must follow the human health operational controls that apply to pharmacy technician work, including GPhC standards, Responsible Pharmacist arrangements, medicines governance, controlled drugs procedures, patient confidentiality, accurate record keeping, escalation and safe working requirements.
The Employee must protect patient medication records, prescription information, consultation notes, controlled drugs records, dispensing incidents, special category health data and any related personal data, operational records, system access details or confidential information accessed while performing pharmacy technician duties.
