Day-to-day operating brief
What Valeter work looks like in practice
A Vehicle Valeter cleans and prepares cars, vans or fleet vehicles using approved products and equipment. The role involves custody of keys, movement of vehicles, customer belongings and close contact with paint, trim and electrical features. Terms should define site or mobile work, driving authority, licence checks, cleaning levels, chemicals, water use, pressure equipment, weather, damage inspections, photographs, lost property and productivity standards. Cleaning plans should reflect material and condition: paint, wraps, leather, screens and specialist finishes may tolerate different methods. Pressure equipment must be aimed and distanced according to training, especially around seals and sensors. Fuel, mileage or warning lights noticed during authorised vehicle movement belong in the condition handover. Productivity targets should never encourage skipping pre-work inspection or leaving wet floors that create a slip hazard.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
