Day-to-day operating brief
What Junior Marketing Assistant (Admin) work looks like in practice
A Junior Marketing Assistant handles the administrative detail behind campaigns, such as schedules, purchase records, samples, event logistics and content calendars. The role differs from a graduate rotation because it may remain focused on practical team support rather than a formal programme. Terms should define duties, office or hybrid work, manager, systems, customer or prospect data, supplier contact, purchase limits, social access, training, review and progression without guaranteeing promotion. Contact lists for events or mailings should be updated only from authorised sources and stored in the campaign system, not personal spreadsheets. Purchase records need quote, budget owner and receipt matched before closure. When samples are returned, damaged or missing, the assistant records the actual disposition. Meeting notes should distinguish decisions from ideas so the team does not accidentally execute an unapproved suggestion. Calendar updates should link the approved asset and destination, reducing the risk that a correct publication date launches a superseded file or unfinished page.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
