What Junior Consultant (Trainee) work looks like in practice
A Trainee Recruitment Consultant learns both candidate delivery and client development under structured supervision. Early duties may include sourcing, calls, CRM administration, vacancy qualification and meeting support before responsibility expands to submissions, negotiation or account ownership. Terms should identify desk and sector, training and probation plan, office or hybrid work, activity and quality measures, candidate and lead ownership, commission eligibility and authority milestones. The title should not be used to expose an inexperienced employee to unsupervised legal, pricing or safeguarding decisions. Progression should separate commercial confidence from compliance competence. The trainee may be ready to lead a client call while still needing review of candidate representation, fee changes or sector-specific clearance questions.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
