Day-to-day operating brief
What Holiday Sports Camp Leader (Multi sport) work looks like in practice
A Holiday Sports Camp Leader coordinates a short-term programme of games and physical activities for children during school breaks. Terms should identify age groups, sites, activity range, staff ratios, qualifications, registration and collection, medical and allergy information, behaviour, weather, indoor alternatives, equipment, trips, meals, photographs, safeguarding, first aid and daily parent communication. A holiday camp leader coordinates several sports alongside registration, breaks, medication arrangements and collection of children. Each day can involve different spaces, equipment and coach competence, so the plan should identify ratios, group allocation, weather alternatives and checks for goals, rackets, bats or inflatables. Terms must cover safeguarding, missing-child response, authorised collection, allergies, behaviour, photography and incident contact with parents. The leader also needs clear authority to change or cancel an activity when facilities, staffing or age mix make the published programme unsafe. Handover at collection should reconcile every child against the authorised adult list, preserve late-collection records and ensure equipment counts do not distract staff from supervision.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
