Day-to-day operating brief
What Skatepark Supervisor (Youth) work looks like in practice
A Youth Skatepark Supervisor opens, monitors and closes a skatepark used by skateboard, scooter, BMX or skating participants. Terms should cover ramp and surface inspections, capacity, age sessions, protective-equipment rules, participant conduct, spectators, lighting and weather, first aid, accidents, safeguarding, lost children, conflict, CCTV interfaces, maintenance isolation and the distinction between supervision and formal coaching. A skatepark supervisor oversees an informal, high-energy environment used by skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes and sometimes inline skates. They need clear rules for capacity, direction of travel, beginner areas, protective equipment, damaged ramps and conflict between users. The post should define safeguarding, first response, CCTV, lost children, anti-social behaviour, opening inspections and closure authority. Supervision does not make the employee a coach for every discipline, and the contract should prevent unauthorised demonstrations or repairs while ensuring defects and serious incidents are isolated and recorded.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
