Day-to-day operating brief
What Shift Manager (Casino) work looks like in practice
A Casino Shift Manager coordinates the live operation when senior leaders may not be present, covering tables, cage, security and customer service. Terms should define staffing authority, opening or closing, keys, cash limits, floor decisions, emergency command, exclusions, customer complaints and management reporting. The manager must balance service and revenue with licence controls, staff welfare and accurate escalation rather than defer difficult incidents until the next shift. The shift log should distinguish decisions completed from risks merely passed to another team. When reduced staffing affects table coverage, cash escorts or breaks, the manager should record the operational adjustment instead of preserving the original plan only on paper. Alarm tests, contractor work and disabled access controls need named owners. Staff sent home early should remain visible in the deployment record.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
