What Massage Therapist (Holistic) work looks like in practice
A Holistic Massage Therapist provides non-medical relaxation and wellbeing treatments shaped by consultation, client comfort and agreed pressure. The role involves private treatment rooms, respectful draping, close physical contact, oils or aromatherapy products and recognition of information that may require deferral or referral. Terms should identify authorised modalities, appointment timing, chaperone or boundary arrangements, linen hygiene, product control, records, retail and commission without implying clinical diagnosis or guaranteed health outcomes. Treatment notes should distinguish relaxation preferences from symptoms requiring assessment elsewhere. Room setup also matters: temperature, noise, access, draping and an uninterrupted way for the client to communicate discomfort all support genuine continuing consent. Package reviews should confirm that the client's needs and consent remain current rather than treating prepaid sessions as automatic authority. The therapist should record any adjusted positioning, support or excluded area.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
