What Perm Technician (Chemical setting) work looks like in practice
A Perm Technician changes hair shape through winding, reducing solution and neutralisation using an approved product system. Previous colour, chemical history, porosity, elasticity and desired curl affect whether and how the service proceeds. Terms should define permitted systems and techniques, consultation, allergy or strand procedures, rod selection, timing, ventilation, PPE, records, pricing and rework. The employee must be able to refuse compromised hair or an outcome that would require unsafe processing. Winding records should capture rod pattern, direction and subsection choices as well as solution timing. Those details help explain uneven outcomes and support a safer future plan without assuming every difference resulted from the chemical product. Home-care guidance should explain when the client may wash, heat-style or colour without claiming the curl will remain identical. Subsequent service records need the perm date and condition observed after settling.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
