Day-to-day operating brief
What Management Consultant work looks like in practice
A Management Consultant diagnoses organisational problems, develops options and supports change across strategy, operations or performance engagements. The role works with senior client stakeholders, sensitive internal data and reusable firm methods, often travelling and recording billable time. Terms should define sectors, project allocation, deliverables, travel, expenses, client confidentiality, conflicts, external communication, intellectual property, sales contribution and the boundary between advice and client decisions. Recommendations should identify implementation capacity, sequencing and measures rather than stop at an attractive target operating model. Client workshops can generate sensitive views about staff or suppliers that need careful attribution. Reusable frameworks must be stripped of client facts before later engagement use. Implementation roadmaps should name decision gates and client capabilities required at each stage. A recommendation dependent on data, leadership capacity or supplier change should not be presented as a simple sequence of dates detached from those conditions.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
