What IT Support Technician work looks like in practice
An IT Support Technician in a professional-services firm supports devices, document systems, communications and access used by lawyers, accountants or consultants. Troubleshooting can expose privileged or commercially sensitive client material, so privacy and matter segregation require particular care. Terms should cover offices, remote tools, identity checks, privileged access, litigation or finance applications, asset custody, out-of-hours support, vendor escalation and ticket evidence. Matter-system support should preserve ethical walls and client restrictions when troubleshooting search, export or permissions. Test accounts need the same segregation logic as real users. Screenshots and diagnostic bundles should be reviewed for privileged text before external vendor escalation. Joiner, mover and leaver tickets should reconcile directory, case system, document repository and remote-access permissions. Removing one login may leave inherited group access active in another application holding restricted client work. Emergency access should be time-limited and reviewed after the incident. Leaving elevated permissions in place converts a recovery measure into an undocumented route around ordinary matter controls.
Individually written and reviewed against the maintained role record.
